Four films of the players asleep. Four tables with surreal images of the quartet, one for each member. If an audience member leans over a table it triggers the corresponding film of that payer to change to an film of them playing in a dreamlike surrounding. If more than one table is triggered for long enough then it becomes apparent that they play in together even in their dreams.
From Installation For String Quartet by Dominic Murcott. The piece is both a 30 minute concert piece and an interactive installation. This example shows how the films in the installation section responding to the audience triggering distance sensors on a series of table with photographs on them.
